POLL: Videographer to have or to have not?

FH and I decided we didnt want a videographer bc we didnt wasnt a camera and those lights in our face all during the ceremony and at the party. We honestly felt it was intrusive.
I went to a wedding last night and everyone is telling me we are CRAZY and have to get one.

So
who is a good videographer that you can reccomend??????

I think there are things in video that you cannot capture in photos. My friends who have kids all remark how their kids love to watch their wedding video over and over again. Each time I watched it I found new things in it. I have absolutley no regrets about the video. They were unobtrusive and got everthing.

Having a Videographer doesn't mean you will have lights in your face. Mine carries a small camera that is similar to ones that some reporters carry. No lights, no crazy huge thing.

My friend and MOH just got married. If you ask her what her biggest regret is - it is NOT having a video.

You miss a lot....and to me, with all the money we spend on this day, why not spend a little an insurance....so that if something happens and you don't remember a moment... you will get to see it.

It's just worth the investment to me! Once you have a shower and realize how quickly the day goes, you'll realize that having someone to record it is a good thing.

I am using Timeless Treasures (excellent quality, totally unobstrusive). Several brides have given reviews and said they forgot he was even there. I wouldn't dream of NOT having a video -- I don't wanna miss a thing!

We weren't going to, and my mom insisted that we had to. Now that I have thought about it, I am glad we booked one. The day will go by so fast, and the video will capture moments that photos just won't be able to.

We are using Timeless Treasures.

YES YES YES!!! Ceremony, reception everything!

I'm dying to see our video - The entire ceremony was a fog! You're on cloud 9 and don't realize what is happening around you. The beautiful messages Father Tom was giving about our aisle runner during the ceremony, our reading, prayers there were all a blur.
During the reception...same thing. Here's an example... My Nephew is 9. He's my pride and joy. He's a little farm boy who lives upstate. Quite & shy. WELL...he was dancing like I've never seen before! Splits, moves that everyone was trying to imitate. It was amazing! We got pics and some proofs, but none show it like a video would.

Trust me...you want the video! You don't even know they're around! We used our photography company for video. They work so well together and are a LOT of fun! HTH!

FH and I decided we didn't want one either - we are not camera people and thought it would be intrusive. However, unfortunately for FH I have changed my mind! I want to look back and watch it years from now - pictures are my most important part, however, there is something different when your hearing the voices of loved ones and watching them laugh and dance!!! I want those memories captured!!

We aren't having them interview people though - if people want to say something they can aproach the camera guy but he is not going to force them.

I'm actually going tonight to interview a videographer from my photo studio!

We aren't getting anything fancy though with graphics or a photo montage just a plain straight forward video.

again i apologize i am verbose.
