I'm such a planner, I could never give up control! But the idea of having a day-of assistant sounds nice...

Re: Poll: Wedding Planners
I wish!!!!! The planning is actually a lot of fun and personally I wouldn't need one for myself.

Re: Poll: Wedding Planners
I am one of those girls who actually is not enjoying the planning process! I am really lucky that my FI is involved and helping but honestly besides the dresses I really dont want to do this planning thing! I am not stressed or anything I jsut find going to the vendors and making appts to be annoying .
I told my FI last night (jokingly) that for my next wedding I am getting a planner!

Re: Poll: Wedding Planners
I am hiring a planner just for the day of. I don't want to have to worry about all the little things on my big day. I'm going to be nervous enough.

I think planning is actually fun, so I have hired my mother as a day of planner, she is actually good at this wedding stuff.

Re: Poll: Wedding Planners
I hired a day of coordinator - I will have a bunch of out of town guests plus I run an office so I will need to dedicate the last month to those things. The day of coordinator takes over the last month and makes all the confirmation calls for me.- thank goodness!

Re: Poll: Wedding Planners
We hired a wedding planner when we signed on with Majestic Bridal in Elmont. However, I don't think it's the type of wedding planner you guys are referring to. When our families first heard we hired a wedding planner, they thought we were paying a lot of money to a person like J-Lo in the movie 'the Wedding Planner'. But that is not what Majestic Bridal is all about. My DH and I got our limos, florist, invitations, favors, photographer, & videographer through Majestic Bridal. They helped us plan in the sense that they called us in when it was time to pick out the invitations, talk to the photographer, the florist, etc.. They didn't control us, they were more like helpful reminders for us so that we didn't fall behind in our planning. In terms of the reception, the Maitre'D and the Bridal Attendant pretty much ran everything to make sure the day ran smoothly.
