Mine was about 1300, but got it 20% off at a trunk show and so it came to about 1100 after tax. :)

You pay what you can. I tried on $5000 dresses at Priscilla of Boston and $500 dresses at David's Bridal, and it's like any other kind of fashion: the styles are similar wherever you go. You know, like how H&M and Bloomingdales have similar shapes / cuts - of course the fit, the ability to hold up over time, and the material etc. are going to be different. You pick a price you're comfy with, pick dress at that price point that makes you really really happy, and be a gorgeous bride.

I made the mistake of trying on a gown without looking at the price.

I think I will just bring a pic and ask for similar styles...

I called all over NY state seeing if an upstate salon carried it cheaper. A big whopping $200 difference!

I just can't fathom paying a lot for a gown that will either a) stay in a box for the rest of it's life or b)get cut down into a christening outfit.
