POLL: When to send out invites?

Ok...Our wedding is May 30 and our RSVP date is May 1. I was originally thinking of sending out of invites in the beginning of March. That would give two full months for people to respond. But Im very anxious to send them out because I cant wait to get peoples responses back! So....I dont know if Im sending them out too early just because I cant wait or if that really is an OK time to send them?

Mine are going out early March. Id give it a little more time only bc ppl will get the invite and some ppl will see they have sooo much time that it becoems too much time and they lose the rsvp.

It is supposed to be two months from the time you mail them until the date of the event ...

Not two months for them to respond.

I would suggest waiting until at least mid march to mail them. Ideally they should go out the end of march.

Out of NY many people only mail 6 weeks before the date of the event.

im mailing them sometime within the next two weeks but thats because our date is memorial day weekend and we have a few out of towners.

Yeah i agree - people postponing and then losing them would be my only concern. i understand you're anxious but i would stick to sending them late march.

I was told by the DOC that we should not send them out until mid March. Because exactly as some of the girls pointed out-people look at the rsvp date and think they have so much time-put it aside and then forget. We are getting married on a holiday weekend- but we are still sending them out by the two month from wedding date rule. Only because we sent out STD cards a year ago w/ hotel information. So everyone out of town already booked a room. So my opinion is mid march and rsvp date end of April/beg. of May.

March is RIGHT around the corner...hang in there and wait until then I think. I'm antsy too and want them out now, but people would think I'm nuts lol

i think the earlier you send them out, the more people procrastinate b/c they say oh,. I have until May.

Give them 6 weeks. Thats what I did. I invited 434 people and already got back half of the repsonses in three weeks.

The only reason to send it out early is if you didn't do a save the date. I didn't do a save the date and sent it out six weeks before the RSVP. I think the responses are coming in at a good rate.

I am the day after you i think or the same day and we are hoping to send out our invites March 1.

if you have an A and B list then the beginning of March is fine. now might even be ok. It gives you more time to invite people on the B list if A listers say no.

I'm sending them out this week and my wedding is two weeks before you. I have a lot of OOT guests who need to book flights and reserve hotels so I wanted to give them time to be able to do that.
