My FIL's go all out on both holidays. I never even knew how big Xmas Eve was until I met them. Then again I didn't know people went to church on Xmas and Xmas eve before I met them either. I feel so bad for my FH, he had to though that every sunday, and EVERY holiday! Ugh!

xmass eve - fh family have dinner and open gifts at midnight

xmass - my family gifts and dinner.

I'm Italian - Christmas Eve is a big, big deal.

We celebrate both. Christmas is a 2-day affair in my family.
