Poll: WHo do you like (so far) in the mayoral race
If the election were today, I'd be voting for Mayor Mike!

Bloomberg no doubt.
Put any democrat in office... and we are back to the 'Dinkins days'.
No thank you.

I'm not 100% in love with Bloomberg, but the deocratic party is a mess right now. I think Bloomberg is doing a good job, and none of the democratic ocntenders have a snowball's chance in hell of beating him. I'm not particularly fond of ANY of them

Actually I think any of the candidates (especially Ferrer) has a VERY good chance of beating bloomberg.
NYC has too many dammed welfare living liberals to give any Republican an 'easy victory'.
Two years ago I said that there was no chance in hell Bloomberg would get re-elected because he pissed too many people off (not his choice). But now I think he may have a shot.

I think C. Virginia Fields is just a non candidate at this point, there's so much negative attention. Gifford Miller can't even hold on to his own town and has no 'base.' If Weiner wins I'll move, because he's such a negative POS. I Just don't like his political tactics at all, and right now he's in 4th place, and we'll see if Ferrer and do better than last time. I think the Dems are going to suffer the same fate they did in 2001, which is they're going to tear each other down and then fail to rally enough suppoprt behind the primary winner.

Also, I just cheed this before saying it. Bloomberg has a 60% approval rating, and it's very high among democrats and minorities. I think he's going to get a lot of democrat/minority votes which would normally be in the bag for a democrat. I'm a liberal through and through and I voted for Mike in 2001 and I plan to vote for him again this year.

If I still lived in the city- I would most likely vote for bloomberg- even though I am a registered democrat- he is not really a republican to me
I think he did a good job with what he had to work with- they kind of set him up to fail- and he didn't ( the repblicans didn't want a real republican in office after 9/11- incase it didn't go well- imo)

Well he was a democrat and switched for the purposes of running for mayor. I didn't like how much he supported his party during the 04 electons, but I guess he had to. I'm actually a registered republican because I liked him so much whe he first announced candiacy that i registered as a republican so I could vote for him in the primary

Yeah exactly. So I'll have to forgive him for that

Bloomberg is the best of both worlds
he is a dem in republican clothing- just what New Yorkers like- a 'liberal conservative'
we love a good oxymoron here!

He's a lifelong democrat who became republican to run for mayor - and he said he wouldn't support the John Roberts nomination if he weren't pro choice (not that bloomberg has much to say in determining the outcome of that )
I think it's awful for this country that so many democrats and republicans have become so divided and extreme - we need to get back to the center real quick with policians who reach across party lines and dont resort to dirty politics and tricks - people like John McCain (R) and Joe Biden (D) (who wants to run for pres. as with McCain as Vice)
