POLLS are closed....BOOK WINNER for DISCUSSION ANNOUNCED!!!!!

WICKED!!!!!!

okay so instead of waiting five days to poll and figure out a date I'm just going to pick a date...

LET's say September 9th..Thursday
What time should everyone get on??? maybe around 4 ish???

The good thing is that once a message is posted if someone misses the discussion they can always post later

WE ALL MUST AGREE NO POSTING ON THE BOOK UNTIL THE 9th!!!!

We don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't finished.

Is 3 weeks enough for everyone???? or too much???

That sounds good to me. I have a stupid question, I typed in Wicked in the Barnes & Noble website and a bunch of books came up, who is the author?

Re: POLLS are closed....BOOK WINNER for DISCUSSION ANNOUNCED!!!!!

FROM THE BN.COM WEBSITE

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

From the Publisher
When Dorothy triumphed over the Wicked Witch of the West in L. Frank Baum's classic tale, we heard only her side of the story. But what about her arch-nemesis, the mysterious Witch? Where did she come from? How did she become so wicked? And what is the true nature of evil? Gregory Maguire creates a fantasy world so rich and vivid that we will never look at Oz the same way again. Wicked is about a land where animals talk and strive to be treated like first-class citizens, Munchkinlanders seek the comfort of middle-class stability, and the Tin Man becomes a victim of domestic violence. And then there is the little green-skinned girl named Elphaba, who will grow up to become the infamous Wicked Witch of the West, a smart, prickly, and misunderstood creature who challenges all our preconceived notions about the nature of good and evil.

Re: POLLS are closed....BOOK WINNER for DISCUSSION ANNOUNCED!!!!!

It does take a little while to get into the rhythm of the language. I promise that once she gets a little older you'll not even notice anymore.

Re: POLLS are closed....BOOK WINNER for DISCUSSION ANNOUNCED!!!!!

I am almost done! I have about 80-100 pages left. I agree, the language is a bit hard sometimes. Someone who told me about the play, kinda gave me some insight to the whole story...the pieces are slowly fitting together.
