I think having a general crafts board (even if most of it is about scrapbooking) will allow all the crafty girls to see all the non scrapbooking threads more easily. I know now that there are so many boards, I miss a lot b/c i dont get to read each one as much as i would like.

With the new set up of the board, its more difficult to jump from one board to another so I'd love to see as much as possible in one place.

Ok, here's what is amazing.

The May thing was a gift from LIW's. It was the FIRST thread to do that which is why it was done in the first place. Since then, everytime a thread got 1000 posts, it was automatically assumed that a board should be awarded. lol. In that case, should we have a Peeps board? lol. I just think this oooh lets award a whole board thing is just childish already. Come on! WHO CARES? lol.

I posted on the Scrapbook thread once, and didnt't again because I just got lost on there. Couldn't find anything I needed, it was too overwhelming. I have posted numerous threads asking for help on things related to crafts, and it got bounced to the bottom of the list before I had a single response. They get lost. So, in the insterest of the 77% who voted for the CRAFT board, which makes a bit more sense honestly...can we all just get along?

why is it a big deal to have both crafts and scrap?

Now all the scrapbooking stuff is going to get lost w/ other stuff which again was the whole point to keep it separate

I agree with the poster who said we should have a category called 'CRAFTS' with subdivisions under it. Like NWR has the subdivisions of HOME, PARENTING, etc.

CRAFTS as the main heading.

With subheadings of...

Scrapbooking
Needlework
Gardening
Fitness
Arts/Crafts

I agree that it's not fair for crafts to take over the scrapbooking tab, but another general crafts would be nice.

There have been other craft posts, but they do get lost. There was one about knitting that had at least 6-8 different people posting and if there was a needlearts, or even just a general craft section, it would get more attention and more might jump in the discussion.

It's just that scrapbooking is so popular now that a lot of people post, but it doesn't mean that the other crafters can't have a space to post too!

people complained they couldnt find things in one scrap thread now its hard to find here as well

I think the fitness tab could be in several places - if you work out at home it go under that tab, if you are trying to lose weight/get fit it could go under the diet tab, if it's a lifestyle then, hmm? I guess it would be a hobby but maybe we should start another category

This thread is ridiculous and moot since the name has been changed. At least the forum pages are longer so we can see more threads at a time.

I have to agree...the one scrapbooking thread was intimidating to go back into and who knew where to look...and there is a HUGE interest , obviously, on the board for scrapbooking...


I think having both would make sense...it is the scrapbookers who's thread was always at the top...

Erica- I spent over ONE HR this morning
cutting and pasting to make scrapping easier and now its all mixed in

Maybe we can have a format for threads, something like

SCRAPBOOK: topic

JEWELERY MAKING: topic


KNITTING: topic

at least this way the subject is clear and easier to look through.
