Poop playing problem

There are some nights when we'll let our puppy loose at night and usually she'll just stay on the bed with us. But two nights i have gotten up to see what she's doing and she brought her poop into the dining room! I think she ate some too. Why do they do that? She never does it when I'm up. Looks like we'll have to keep her in the kitchen at night for awhile longer.

my cocker spaniel did that when he was a pup. the vet gave us this powder to sprinkle in his food and it makes them not eat their poo. it worked afterthe first time.
