I'm so glad to hear someone else is getting married there!! I was kind of nervous b/c I booked it without knowing how it's going to look after the renovations................

I think part of the problem with finding 04 PJCC brides is that for awhile they weren't making any reservations for 04 due to the change in ownership. When I called them in July of this year I was told they were not booking for the new year yet...I was offended and decided not to call back.

Re: Port Jeff CC

It was difficult booking without really knowing what it would look like , when we booked, early September, they only had a sketch of the outside, I can definitely imagine how it could have been a turn off for some. I guess we took our chances, we liked what we heard. Sounded as though decor decisions were still yet to be made but I did hear, and hopefully this remains the case, they would be replacing the wood with mahogany and their would be no carpet, it would be that beautiful dark gray marble floor, plus all new chairs and tables. If I recall correctly, it is a 2.5 million dollar renovation, so I imagine it will be amazing.
It is such a nice place now. Plus with Lombardi's food, I don't think you can go wrong. Their menu is amazing. We were very pleased and excited to see the progress. Tough though not knowing what it will look like until next May. If anyone hears anything else, please let us know!!!

Yes, the fact that I booked something I can't see makes me a bit crazy but after talking with a lot of people I guess we can't go wrong......Villa Lombardi's said their putting $2 million dollars into the renovations which is much needed.....but the big bonus is their food...the menu is great!
I guess that's why the prices are going up after their done...........

I can't even judge a wedding there now b/c it will totally different after the renovations....plus the new ownership....
May seems so far way......lol hopefully they will have more designs to show me when I go back to Villa Lombardi's.........

I know PJCC will be totally different next year but I just wanted to say that the wedding I went to was great!

Unfortunately the weather did not hold up so they had the ceremony and cocktail hour inside. But the food was so good! And the service was great too.
I wanted to point out a couple of things, just because I want to make sure everything is perfect for your weddings!!!
There was no greeter or coat check at the door so I walked into the main room and carried my coat through the cocktail hour. Since it is a country club and the bride had to move the cocktail hour upstairs, we had to walk by the bar with guys watching the baseball game. The men's bathroom is through that bar and if my FI hadn't stopped the waiter carrying a tray of food and asked, he won't have found it.
I know not every place has valet parking either but since it was raining, we were able to find a parking spot fairly close but I heard some guests weren't as lucky and came wet to the cocktail hour.
All in all, the view was amazing and the wedding went off very well. I couldn't believe how much food there was. The maitre D was great, he checked up on every table. Her cake was unbelievable, I don't know if it was included but it was delish!

Thanks for the review..........I know it will be different after the renovations but I thought the same thing when I went to look at it recently....I addressed all my concerns to Villa Lombardi's and they reassured me it would all be taken care of with all the changes their making......but I need constant reassurance ....lol My fiance tells me to sit tight and it will work out.....so I just have to patient....
I noticed your getting married at the North Ritz, I work down the block from there....but never went in there.....heard it's really nice though.
Lots of luck!

I now how you feel...our hall is renovating in the beginning of February which is about a month before our wedding. I'm not worried about it being done...it will be, they have a V-day wedding booked...but I'm curious to see the new color scheme and other changes!!!
