Has anyone been to Port Jeff or Bellport Country Club? We'd like to go there to check them out but if they're out of our budget or not really our style, I'd like to save us the trip. If anyone knows details, please tell! (price per head, etc.)

Villa Lombardi's took over catering, etc at Port Jeff. We got a good price because we booked before they did any renovations or had any plans to show us.
I think for a Saturday night the price is over $125pp but I am not positive. You get a lot for your money though!
You can call Charles at Villa Lombardi's, he is in charge of Port Jeff.

I visited both before I made my decision.
The Port Jeff CC is BEAUTIFUL- and Villa Lombardi's will serve amazing food. However, their prices did start about $125 a head before tax and tip (I want to say that that together was like an extra 25%- not sure) on a Sat night.
I actually ended up booking the Bellport County Club- food and location were also great. Sat night was $100 a head before tax and tip (again, about 25% additional). They threw in table centerpieces (my choice) as part of the package and I figured that that could add up a lot (we'll probably have about 200 guests- 20 tables). I just really liked the charm of the BCC. Plus, my wedding is at night, so the beauty of the water at the PJCC would be lost for us).

mnttnbchbride, i thought the bellport cc was on the great south bay? we'll be getting married on a fri. night, but since it gets dark so late in July we figure we'll have almost 2 hrs of daylight and even a great sunset (if, godwilling, its nice that day), so we really want to get married on the water. we're 90% sure we want to go w/ chateau la mer, but from what we've seen on the internet about bellport cc, it looks really great too and we want to make sure we've checked out all options before signing anything.

It IS on the Great South Bay, but not like the PJCC is on the Sound. In back of the Country Club is the golf course- so you can SEE the water in the background, but it's not directly 'on' the water. Your background would be more green than water.
Does that help? It's still VERY beautiful, but if you're looking for water, probably not your best bet.

thank you so much, you've truly helped. bellport cc sounds beautiful. my fi has a torn achilles so its been difficult checking out lots of places. we went to 5 places last weekend, and it was tough. i offered to look myself, but he really wants to be involved so i don't want to discourage him. anyway we really did love chateau la mer and its right on the great south bay so it looks like we may just go w/ them. thanks again!
