Port Jervis, Orange County

My mom is looking to buy her new home there...we've checked out the town's schools, crime and all other pertinent reports, and so far all looks good.

Any raves/rants about it? Its beautiful and right next to the Deleware Water Gap...your inputs are greatly appreciated!

Mom will be commuting to the city everyday (she's nuts I know) but that is what she wants.

I've been up there many times!

Very rural, but very beautiful! We've camped at Kittatinny Campgrounds and rafted on the Delaware several times. I would move up there in a heartbeat but hubby doesn't like the isolation. I don't think it was that far a ride from the city (almost about the same to NYC as from Eastern Suffolk).
