Positive or Negative?

They say a line is a line, so I'd say she's preggo!

The first test I took was 2 days before my period was due and no line. The next test was the day that I was expected to get it and that's when it was +.

I used 3 tests and 2 brands, b/c I didn't believe it. She may want to try a different brand, but I'd say CONGRATS!

Usually a faint second line indicates that a person is pregnant. The tests are designed to show the level of HCG (a preganancy hormone released by the placenta right after the embryo begins implanting into the uterine lining) in pregnant women's urine. If no HCG is present, the second line would not appear. The presence of the second (i.e. positive)line indicates the presence of HCG in your friend's urine and therfore, pregnancy.
The second line can be faint because her hormone levels are still somewhat low (i.e. it is very early in the pregnancy).
Since the second line is appearing, that indicates a positive test and your friend should call her doctor for a confirmatory blood test.

coselige is right. When I took my first pg test, there was no second line at all. I later found it was because the hcg levels were too low and I was drinking alot of water at the time so it diluted my urine. So I went around for another week or so thinking I wasnt pg but when I still didnt get my AF, I took another test and the line was very bright and showed up a split second after I dipped it in the urine.
