Possible Date Open 4-18-08 (VERY long one....sorry!!)
So, FH and I went to Liberty Travel last night and priced out a bunch of honeymoons, and while we were there, we also priced out a bunch of possible destination weddings!
We've been talking about this for the past few weeks now and the more and more we think about it, we think it's crazy to spend $15 - $20,000 on just one day, when any of that money could be added to our savings for our down payment on a home!
We even thought about doing a smaller wedding, roughly 65 people, but then we still had photo, dj, limo, flowers, dresses, etc. And the cheapest we could figure it out to be was $10,000, and that was still cutting some corners!! Then we'd have the honeymoon to pay on top of that! (and we thought about passing up a honeymoon and doing something simple, but then decided that we deserve it b/c it'll be our last BIG vacation for a looooong time b/c we'll be having kids right away!)
We LOVE Larkfield Manor and would LOVE to have a decent size wedding, but more and more it just seems silly. And I've always dreamed of getting married on a beach! On top of that FH's mother passed away recently and my dad passed away a few years ago, and even without them the wedding would feel a bit 'out of place' with a traditional wedding and all.
Sooooooo we got a GREAT deal at Liberty last night for an all-inclusive at Sandals, at the St. Lucia Grande Resort. For 10 days/9 nights, airfare, wedding, photo, video, and album and flowers, small dinner reception and breakfast in bed the next morning.....all for $6200!!! Now how can you pass that up!?? A wedding and honeymoon all in one! And we'd be going in April of 2008 too! So we'd still have our wedding date.
So like I said, there's a good possibility that we're leaning toward this type of wedding. We have a deposit down at Larkfield Manor for April 18th 2008. If anyone's interested in that date, FM me and I'll provide you with all the info!!
