Possible to have marriage license say 7/7/7?

Not if you're getting married on the 8th.

if you're getting married on july 7, it would say 07/07/07 or 7/7/07

Then does that mean that the marriage license only states the day of the actual marriage ceremony?

Or is it on the day that the marriage certificate was signed?? What day shows up on the certificate?

I'm confused about the whole marriage license deal. From what I understand, the places that have the license available are only open monday through Friday.

So the day that you sign up to get married is not the same as the day the ceremony takes place, right?

You need to get a marriage license between 60 days and 24 hrs before your wedding, usually on a Monday-Friday.

After the license is submitted by the person who marries you, you will get your certificate which will have the date of the ceremony and the date it was signed by the town clerk.

ETA: The certificate is mailed to you.

You're confused between marriage license and marriage certificate...you get the license up to 2 months before the wedding then provide it to your officiant who fills out stuff about the actual marriage, signs it and sends it back to NY state and then you get your marriage certificate about 2 weeks later...no matter what neither will say 7/7/7 if you're getting married on 7/8/07...sorry

I think I understand now:
The only way the certificate will say the 7th is if the ceremony is on the 7th.

The license would have the day the license was applied for and completed which could be up to two months prior to the wedding.

I was curious. Because my fiance wants to have a private ceremony on the 7th with our pastor and then renew the vowels on the 8th with the family and everyone together.

We weren't sure what date would go on what paper and how. It seems important to know.

If you are having the private cermony on the 7th then technically you are getting married on the 7th. Your marriage certificate will then say 7/7/07 since that is the date you are getting married on. The 8th will just be a renewal of your vows and you don't get a marriage certificate for that. Just out of curosity why are you doing that? It sounds like an awful lot of trouble to go to just to have 7/7/07 on your marriage cert?????

It's once in a life time that we get to have so much excitement and fun for one weekend. Plus the pastor is on vacation through that time, is in town and has that weekend open.
