We had booked our HM at Excellence Punta Cana and I just saw someone post that Excellence Playa Mujeras is having a sale. Well I just went on Expedia and it turns out that if we went to EPM we would be paying the same amount for a rooftop terrace room that we are paying for a garden view at punta cana. Do you think I should switch it? My parents are nervous about us going to mexico. What do you ladies think? TIA!!
**UPDATE**
I talked to my travel agent! We are now Excellence Playa Mujeras Honeymooners!!!!!!! And we only have to pay $75 more than we were paying for our garden view room at Excellence Punta Cana but now we have a rooftop terrace room!!! Woohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Especially after hearing the same review yesterday about the three gates, I feel really safe going to EPM. I didnt look a pictures of Excellence Punta Cana but I know EPM looks awesome and I can't wait to go! Can you change your honeymoon without losing money?

I just emailed my travel agent. i think because we have insurance we might only lose $100 but not too sure about that.

You should totally switch it - especially if the difference isn't that much. We are going to EPM and originally were gonna do just the junior club level suite..but then when this sale happened, we jumped on it and found that we could totally afford the rooftop in the club level.
We wanted to go to hawaii but FH can't take off two full weeks from work so we're going to Mexico..I figure we were probably gona spend so much more in Hawaii, so why not splurge in Mexico?!

are you nervous about going there? FH and my parents are nervous. I think it will be fine if we dont leave the resort.

we are going to excellence playa mujeres ... i was starting to get worried about going to mexico but reading reviews and talking to the travel agent i feel much better since the resort is far away from the problem areas. we are going to be staying in the roof top terrace and i cant wait! that room looks AMAZING!!! i would switch!
I can only comment on Excellence, Punta Cana since I have been there before. My FH and I absolutely loved it and had d great time! The grounds were beautiful and the staff was great as well.

don't know the last time you went there but my friend got back in February and it was terrible. Garbarge all over the beaches (I saw the pics) hotel was run down and was terrible. I suggested Punta Cana to her because I love and it where we stay the beaches are as beautiful if not more than any other island I have been too. I have been to Isle of Mujeres (sp) and would recommend it over excellence Punta Cana. I would recommend the Paradidus Punta Cana over anything but I would reommend definitly changing it. If you want pics, I can try and send you some of how dirty the hotel was.

I was there back in July 2008. Maybe management has changed since, but when we went, we thought it was beautiful.
