So...my Engagement Party was this past weekend....it made me think ALOT about who's in my corner and who doesn't have CLUE about what's really going on....or what I really need. It was thrown by my FMIL and though the point of it was for the Bridal party to be announced and for them to get to know each other, the rest of it just was.......ugghhhh...one large headache. I know that in the months to come it's going to get worse (I'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!) But how do I keep things from spiraling out of control....some words of wisdom would be great......

The best advice I can give, is never lose sight of what is really important! You and you FH. As long as you have each other, nothing else really matters. You will no doubt be confronted with many opinions, some are awesome & taken and some are just not warranted or even asked. Keep your eyes on the prize! good luck!

Thanks so much for the advice!!....I keep telling myself that same thing..and that in the end it's about me and him..it's just hard to keep a calm, cool and collected head when in the heat of the moment...lol

I agree, it very important to remember that its yours and FHs day and you should have it just they way you want it. Everyone else had or will have their day so make it about you two.

There will be ups and downs but just focus on ur goal which is a beautiful wedding. This is a time that your gonna have to say it's all about us and forget the rest because if not you can go crazy lol.

ITA: This is your moment to shine. Do what you and your FH want and let everyone else worry about themselves. You're not supposed to be upset or aggrivated on one of the most important and biggest days of your life.
