after an interview are you supposed to, or should, send a little thank you and hope to join the company note via email or fax???i never thought about doing this, but during my interview yesterday the interviewer made a comment of a woman sent a thank you a couple weeks ago right after her interview, they offered her the job, but then she couldnt take it b/c of personal things...has anyone ever done this??i feel like im out of the interview loop and should know whether or not to send one...let me know! thanks ladies

Re: post interview question
Last time I interviewed was back in 1995!!!..haha..but i did follow up with a typed note (e-mail was rare back then) saying something like...
'Thank you for the opportunity to meet with you. I was impressed by your company's...blah blah.....and am looking forward to the opportunity to become a part of its team.
I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me and I look forward to hearing from you soon.'
short & sweet but shows you are conscientious and pay attention to details! Good luck!!! hope you get the job!!!

Re: post interview question
A follow-up e-mail to an interview is the professional norm nowadays. Keep it short and sweet.
Something along the lines of thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I really enjoyed meeting with you and look forward to hearing from you again...

Re: post interview question
St John's used to tell us to send a Thank You after every interview. I usually send mine through an email.

Re: post interview question
I always send a thank-you letter after the 1st and 2nd interview. It just shows them that i am still interested, and that i want the job.

Re: post interview question
I haven't interviewed in over 2 years since I'm at my job for that long but when I did yes, I sent a thank you letter in the mail. My friends who go usually now email it to the appropriate person but I would def send one.

Re: post interview question
My professors all told me itwas customary to send thank you letters. Try to make it personal to your interview, not just a form letter.

Re: post interview question
yes, I did it after every interview that I could.
My dad said that there was a man who he interviewed and went through a few rounds of interviews with, and after each one the man would send a short email, and he was so impressed with how in each email the guy said something different - my dad said it showed that he cared and was putting effort in. needless to say, the guy got the job, and my dad recommended that I do the same thing when interviewing.
