Post July 4th Low Carb challenge...

Original post by Sassyz75

to my Low Carb Ladies-

Is anyone interested in a low carb challenge? Basically a commitment to each other to be good, be as low-carb as possible & drink all our water? I need to do this SO BAD because I was HORRIBLE this weekend....

Any takers?

Re: Post July 4th Low Carb challenge...

ok so say I want to have some chicken nuggets or a breaded chicken breast, instead of grilled?
How bad are the carbs in that? I'm thinking its only about a teaspoon of breadcrumbs. Will I break the bank?

Oh no Sass!

See I think ALL candy and goodies should have a laxative effect... this way I will never go back to eating a whole bag ever again! One or two are enough for me now thankyouverymuch!

Re: Post July 4th Low Carb challenge...

This weekend wasn't so bad.... only real slip up were the cocktails and the Hibachi Rice at the Japanese restaurant that I just had to treat myself to. If you can do without the rice, its a great low carb dinner. (onion soup, salad, shrimp app, filet mignon and snow crab, veggies... good stuff)

Breakfast- diet coke, honeydew

Lunch- avocado, tomatoe, fresh mozzarella w/oil and balsamic vinegar

GOAL FOR THE DAY- Lots of water

I had a so-so weekend- they are usually my bad times :(- went on a picnic- ate some food (but nothing bad- just some lentil salad, etc- so at least eveything was high fiber).

today- iced coffee and a low carb bar..

Re: Post July 4th Low Carb challenge...

I'm proud to say I had an AWESOME weekend! The only cheat was last night when I ate a sliver of JT's birthday cake that I made him. But it wasn't even an inch thick, so I'm not beating myself up.
Today:
breakfast: Columbo light yogurt, decaf. tea.

by the way ladies- the carb solutions high protein bar - taste sensations aren't TOO bad if you can't find Atkins.

Re: Post July 4th Low Carb challenge...

Could I just butt in here and ask how much you ladies have lost so far?

Thanks

I have to say I haven't weighed myself since I begun the 4th of July challenge because I do not own as scale- I have to buy a new one.

However, when I did low carb b/f the wedding I lost 15 lbs in 2 1/2 months...

I find eating low carb keeps bloating under control and also controls my indigestion & acid reflux (which I get very badly if I am eating carbs like potatoes and rice).

Dinner:

lettuce tacos..... taco meat (prepared per package directions) with mushrooms, onions & jalapenos mixed in wrapped in green leaf lettuce leaves... (so good).

Ranch dip with carrots & celery.

dessert: wasa cracker with 1 tsp of natural peanut butter and 1 tsp of sugar free strawberry preserves
