Post Office Aggrivation!!! I'm halfway to my passport!

So FH and I FINALLY got in gear to do passports today. He picked me up at lunch, we went to Eckerds got pics, then to town hall for copies of birth certificates, then to the Post Office......I went to Smithtown and they were so rude! The guy at the counter said I had to go to the passport office, but didn't tell me where it was. Then after I asked and he told me, I went to it and the guy in the little window gave me the applications and said I needed an APPOINTMENT!!!! Ughhh!!!!
I already had the applications filled out but had to make some address changes. Appointment for what? He was doing NOTHING!
Now I have to leave work again sometime this week and that isn't too easy for me to do. This really stinks!

that *****...some people are sooo rude he could of been nice and took care of u if he wasnt doing nothing....

Yes, some Post Offices will make you have an appointment. We did not need an appt, good thing too, b/c I didn't call first! I think they take about 8 weeks to get the final passport!

I went to the post office in ISLIP right on main street I did not have an appointment and I went on a Saturday.
Where do people get off being so rude.

I did mine through Town Hall (clerks office). I didn't go to the Post Office because I've heard a lot of people had issues. It was so easy through Town Hall and it came really fast.

But hey....at least you got your tush in gear and now you'll have your passport for your HM!!!

I'm not sure where you live, but I took care of my passport on a Saturday a.m. at the Stony Brook post office in the village. It was quick, easy and painless! Good Luck! Oh and we did not make an appointment to go there, just went early and there was a line!

BTW - Not sure if everyone is aware but I believe starting this month you will need a passport to travel to the Caribbean and Mexico too. Hope this helps!

Oh man that is a pain!!! That is so ridiculous you need an appointment, not liek they ever do anything in a timely fashion, they loveee to make ppl wait!!
