Post Office/RSVP dama

Post Office/RSVP dama

Im getting so angry.
Supposedly one of my guest put their RSVP in the mail over a week ago (Not the Thursday that just passed but the Thursday before that) and one of my co-workers showed me that she put her RSVP in the mail last Monday and I haven't received either of them!!!! What is going on?

Hmm, are you sure they are telling you the truth?

Vin has a family member who is always late with RSVPing and when you call her she goes 'oh yeah it's in the mail' but then it never comes- she just said that to pacify us.

Eventually, we always have to call her back and she gives the 'must have gotten lost' and then finally RSVP's.

If they are not that type of people (which I'm sure you can tell) then IDK what is going on b/c that's pretty odd... I guess there's no way of tracking it.

I hope they show up.

I agree with Dani...

we had sooo many people say they send it in the mail 'last week' - only to find the envelope post marked the day we reminded them... people lie...

I actually had a similar problem but with the card i sent to my mom for Mother's day. Dropped it off at the post office (had it hand cancelled even) last Wednesday. She has yet to get it. Could just be the glut of mail for Mother's day.

YES! I have had that too...

Or the best was with our E-party gift from one of his cousins. I got the 'oh they didn't have it in stock so Fed Ex is sending it' THEN, about four days or so after the party I see it disappear from my registry and then get sent to my house with the date it was processed as FOUR days after the party was OVER!

The kicker was that I waited to send out the thank you until I got the actual gift so I knew what I was thanking them for and about two days after I rec'd the gift (I had already had the TY written out b/c that's how crazy I am and was waiting to bring it into the office that Monday with me)... But, a day before that we had seen them at a family thing and she asked me if I 'finally' rec'd her gift and blamed Fed Ex again so I played along with it even though I knew it was BS and said 'YES, I got it-- thank you so much-- it's beautiful-- how annoying is Fed Ex?'...

AND she goes.... (GET THIS!) 'Oh, I guess I must have missed the THANK YOU card'

I was like are you kidding me?! So Vinny snapped 'Well, when you send the gift a week late- the Thank you card comes a week late!'

Hmm, that could be... Mother's Day is overwhelming for the Post Office...

BUT b/c these were sent out prior to Mother's Day it makes me wonder.

Oh and don't worry about falling for it-- That used to happen to me all the time-- Wedding planning makes you wiser!

Hopefully they are now are on their way

That is a big concern for us..since our wedding is around Christmas- that is why we are having the RSVP due back before the big Christmas rush.

People are ridiculous!

It's good to just not get to crazy angry at it... but it is annoying...

People lie and its so easy to catch them in it!

I had one couple go on and on on the RSVP card that they couldn't make the wedding bc they had their first family vacation with their newborn planned and unfortunately the vacation was planned before they got our invite... turns out the wife trained the best man in his new job and didn't even go away that week or weekend... whatever!

I had this problem...we had 7 invites come back instantly..unmarked NOTTA on them-then we resent them and no problem!!!

THEN we received some RSVPs lately that I know were sent out right away-I made a big stink to one of my close friends about sending the card in, I was with her when she dropped it in the mail, it didnt get to me until last week! and it went out the first day of April...ALSO my FMIL sent hers and it was torn apart.....ridiculous! And they want to charge us more money

we got invites back that had the address wrong - I sent them out last month and I still got them today!!!

I don't think they are telling a lie. First of all, I have people who never even received the invitations, including one of my bridesmaids whose father works for the Postal Service.

Then, there are people who RSVPd (at least about 5-6 at this point) that have sent it out and which I never received.

They may be telling the truth.

As my RSVP approaches, I am hoping everyone even got the invitation.

I am not too happy with the Postal Service.

I had the same thing happen! One of the invitations came back as undeliverable and I called to the pple to check the address, it was correct, so I reprinted the outer envelope and resent it and they got it in 2 days! So weird... there go my 63 cents... well I guess it would be more now.

Actually, my mailman told me when he noticed my rsvps coming back that if I don't receive all of them to let him know. He said that because of their small size they often get 'misplaced' because they don't go through the sorting machines properly. He said they wind up at the wrong post offices. This could be why they are taking so long.

I feel your pain though w/9 days left till my rsvp due date I am still missing like 45 of them

Uh oh!!!

I can't imagine what will happen with POSTCARD response cards!!!
I'm never gonna see mine!

I have total dread thinking people will be idiots and send the entire sheet- which is on the top reception card, bottom response card- which has to be preforated. I could just see someone mailing the WHOLE THING!
or being even dummer and putting it in an envelope even when I paid the postage!

You'd be surprised how dumb people are-I've gotten back atleast 5-10 rsvps w/no name written on it or a return address sticker-so thank god I numbered them. One person just sent it back the exact same way I sent it to him-no yes or no checked off and no name???
