Thank you. All the dresses looked so beautiful. I think I like the French bustle, it looks the most natural.
Can so one tell me how much it cost to do a French bustle vs. a standard one?

It depends, usually most places charge per point, which is per hook-mine was $10 per, it was I think $160 (I had a double french-2 rows of ties) it also depends on how long your train is.

Can you explain to me how it works. So it goes under and up, and then you hook it in place. Do they use something similar to a bra hook? Those things are pretty small, how do you find it on your train?

They can use different things-hook and eye (just like a bra hook) or buttons and loops, mine was done with ribbon. Each ribbon was numbered to match the ribbon it tied to.

Basically for regular french bustle you would have 2 rows-one of hooks the other of eyes...then when you lift up the train you would just hook the bottom row to the top row, up and under.

They usually are pretty easy to find since they do them in silver, the seamstress who did my bustle sewed pearls over where teh ribbons were sewn on so youwouldnt see the pull.

That clear things up a bit. I love the ribbon idea. Thank you so much.

NP also with the ribbons-people stepped on my dress and all that happened was the bow came undone-no big deal-didnt rip my dress or the lining.

I had a ribbon tied french as well. It held all night long and was great.

This was my french bustle. I don't have great pics, but I think you can get the idea. It was not the bustle that 'came' with the dress, but I loved it so much better than a traditional pull up. At the fitting, I just asked her to move the bustle up a little bit, so the beadworkd wasn't being covered. She did that, and you can see it in the second pic. The first is a pic from my fitting, the second is a pic from my dance with my dad.
