what is a bridesmaids luncheon? different than a shower?

A bridesmaid luncheon is basically all the Bridesmaids and MOh getting together w. the bride at a restaurant. . . I did it up all fancy and did pretty invites on it and printed the envelopes out w. fancy caligraphy [cause i was bored lol] and I treated all my girls to lunch. . . Some brides do this in general, or IF they know they're not having or didn't want a bachelorette party... Also sometimes the Bm think theyre getting their gifts at the BM Luncheon. . ! I had the BM Luncheon 2 weeks be4 my wedding, and the RD was the following week [a week be4 the wedding] so I joked and said 'thanks for coming, but ur not getting ur gifts today! ur getting them next week!' Some brides chose not to do it, because its one more expense they don't need.
