he wants traditional formal invites and i dont. I want to use colors that match our BM dresses and I also want to DIY them to save a couple of hundred dollars. I am trying to prove to him that most brides arent using those old fashioned type invites anymore and they using different colors, styles, ribbons, and also a lot of brides are DIYing them. God, guys arent supposed to care about this!

maybe once you show him pictures he may change his mind? when we were picking out invites/suits/favors/etc, i went onto the knot and found tons of pics that looked similar to my ideas and showed them to FH. once he could visualize it, he got excited about being a little 'different'
also, you could compromise by telling him you will use formal, traditional wording, or something like that???

oh i know! i like the modern ones too
i sent you a FM with pictures of ours but i'm pretty sure that is not what you are looking for. there are some beautiful modern ones online -- i love the look of those as well. could have been happy with either but we got an awesome discount on these so i got lucky
