We haven't picked ours out yet, but FH wants a plain band. And when I say plain, I mean PLAIN. Not any form of adornment on it. He's easy to please.

This is FH's ring.. white gold, but he's getting it finished in black rhodium, so it'll have a blackish look

here is my FHs, its from Littman Jewelers. Not what I thought he would pick at all!! Its titanium though, which is good because he can't destroy it

FYI: We bought them down in Florida. If you ever go on vacation from now until your wedding, I'd do it, the tax is much much cheaper and we took them on our carry ons. We paid $350 for our whole set. Mine is similar to FH's, it just has 6 small stones.
