leslie - i would just use the 37 cent stamp and have your return address on the front and back of the envelope b/c even if returned for insufficient postage it would still come to you
you don't want to do this! If you do, when the post office stamps 'Insufficient postage' it will ruin the entire envelope

and you are chancing that it might not get there. Not worth the gamble for me

How about the breast cancer 45 cent stamps? At least they look better than the eagle or flag 2 cent stamps, ya know?? I think I might go with those.....

I already have my invitations and like the other posters said, I want to make sure I get everything back.

The 45 cents may be an option. Nevr thought of that. Still more money but not as much. And at least the money will go to a good cause. Shoot, people have worse problems than this. Why am I whining???

For all the '06 brides - I heard on the news this morning that as of January, postage is going up from .37 to .39. I just wanted to give you a heads up. Happy Planning!!!
Now that is official I can complain! I actually budgeted for postage when I made out the wedding budget. Not that 2 cents per response card is going to break the bank, but how much of an increase will there be for the invite itself?? I hate when you have a plan/budget and something messes it up!

I just went to the US Postal Service's website. It says the Board of Governors will be voting on the recommended 2 cent increase on Monday, November 7. It also says the breast cancer stamp is valid postage for the 'current' 37 cent postage. I take that to mean it might not be sufficient if the rates go up. It's a great idea for the brides that need to get there invites in the mail, but I suggest calling (or emailing) to make sure the RSVP's will come back with that stamp on it.

Take a deep breath Michelle. Like I said, I did the figures and the extra postage was only a lil over $30 for my invites. $30 was worth the cost of an aesthetically pleasing bulk mailing. If I were sending out 1000 invitations, it would make a bigger difference in my budget but for my 150 (give or take 2 or 3) invitations, it aint gonna break me to put the 60 cents on both envelopes.

That's great if it's not an issue for you -- but like I've said, Me and Ant are paying for everything and every little bit helps. And I'm sending out more than 150!

Re: Postage
What I meant was use the 37 cent one ONLY for the inner RSVP envelope. On your outter invite, I doubt highly that it will only cost you 37 or 39 cents because of the weight of the invite. Usually the outter envelope is 60 cents and not 37 unless you did only one card and a post card reply. With linings and multiple pages and the different sizes your envelope will need more than 37 (39 cents).

Re: Postage
Just wanted to give you all the heads up that this is what i received from the USPS. The decision on the rate change will take place on Monday 11/7
Thank you for visiting our web site. I understand you would like information about the postage increases.
This increase was recently approved, and rates will be going up in January 2006. Unfortunately, they have not decided exactly what day that increase will take effect. That decision will be made November 7th, so you will know before-hand what rates to use.
If I can be of assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for using the United States Postal Service
