Postage Going Up, what to do about mailing invites ahhhh

Ok so postage is going up May12
I was going to mail my invites within the next week or two. My RSVP date is June 11 for a July 18 wedding date.
Should I just wait until after May12 or do you think that is too late?
Plus I could send some out now, but what about the postage for the RSVP?
Any thoughts ladies???
Plus the only stamps they have with the new postage amount right now are the stupid liberty bell arrrrgggg

I would say you have to wait unless you can get the 1 cent stamps now and mail them before it goes up

Well, you could use the 'forever' stamps for the rsvp cards. They are first class mail and they are good forever. They're not as pretty as some of the other stamps out there but its only going on the rsvp.

1. mail your invites before may 12 and use current postage

2. put liberty bells on your rsvps, or put a pretty stap w/ the 1c tiffany stamp.

pretty new stamps dont come out right away, the new ones are always ugly (dont know why, this is so easily fixed!) but there isnt really anything you can do

i was going to do 41+1c on response envelope and it looked silly so i did liberty bells. our envelopes are ivory so it didnt look bad actually, but still would have loved to use pretty stamps

I used the forever stamps for the RSVP.

On my invites - I had a .41 flower stamp and a .17 ram.

Stamps don't matter. At least to me they didn't.

i was planning to do flower + ram on invite (i hated those wedding stamps and was going to avoid them at all costs) but our invites needed more than 58c to mail.

i was going to do flower + tiffany 1c for response envelope but decided to just to the forever stamps

Send it out before May 12th.

IMO its just a stamp, noone looks at it. I used the liberty bell on everything. It goes in the garbage anyway.

Thanks girls!
It's not that I care so much about what they look like as much as when they get delivered. I guess I'll try current postage on the outside and new postage on the inside.

Exactly.. get the Liberty bell stamps for your RSVPs. You buy them now for .41 each and when postage goes up to .42 - they'll still be good. That's why they call them 'forever' stamps.

No matter what price stamps are at - the liberty bell is good (only for first class pieces under an ounce of course).

I am mailing mine out tomorrow actually. I know its early but we have a lot of OOTers and we wanted to give them time to book flights and the hotel.

I also wanted to beat the postage increase.

As for the response cards...I just put the liberty bell ones. They are just the RSVP cards- I could care less what the stamps look like.
