Posted on BHB-question regarding pics in between church and CH

WHEN DO YOU USUALLY TAKE YOUR FAMILY PICS? AT THE HALL AFTER THE CEREMONY BEFORE CH? I am trying to figure out what my family should do in between church and CH. I finally agreed for a 330 church and 730 CH on a Friday. My ceremony is about 1/2 hour and I'm planning on having a very fast receiving line in order to catch whatever sunlight I can get on my way out of the church. Say by 445-5 I should be ready to go with FH to the hall to take more pics. As for my fam and their 2.5 hr break at that point- I don't know. Here's the problem.

Is it normal for FH's parents and my parents to go back to their houses which is about 10 minutes away from church to host OOT and then leave a bit earlier to meet us at hall for pics? I'm afraid they are going to be sitting in traffic and miss part of the CH or force us to then take pics with fam during the CH. Can someone help me sort this out. Sorry so long

My CH started at 7:00, I had all family (or whoever I wanted in pictures) at the hall by 6:00. What most people did in my family (that weren't going to be in pictures) went to the hall with my parents. All of them understood that this is what had to be done. With DH's family some people stayed at the house and locked up on their way out. This is something that your parents and DH parents should worry about - you just need to tell them when you want them somewhere.

Our ceremony is at 2:30 (latest they let us have it!) and CH starts at 7 so we have a bit more time, but we are taking family pictures at the house, bridal party at the Oakdale Arboretum and then heading to CLM...another wedding before us so we can't go there early...don't know if that helped you at all.

I am thinking of doing family pics at the church- I have a 3 pm ceremony and a 6 pm cocktail hour. My best friend is hosting the OTT party at my parent's house so we can go take pics at the reception hall before the cocktail hour so I assume they will start coming to the reception hall early to finish up any pics before the cocktail hour.

Couldn't you have a friend do the hosting and just have your family come to the reception hall after the church to take pics? Bring some bubbly and snacks in the limo and you are all set.

Either my mother will host the OOT for a little bit then meet up at the hall when we go there which will be a little before CH. The friend thing is an option. thanks girls
