Posting as a BM this time...(shower help)

In planning my best friends shower: a couple questions (her wedding is a year before mine, so I need to do a good job )

How long before her wedding should the shower be?

She has expressed interest in a 'ladies tea', but nothing too fancy. I also know that the approximate number of shower guests will be 50.

Please help?????

edited to add: I would do a nice job anyway because she is my oldest and dearest friend... I was just trying to be funny with that comment ..

On the newlywed board people posted pictures of their showers and Richsbride's was a tea themed one and it looked amazing- maybe she can help.

I went to a baby shower that had a tea theme. There a few different style tea's (earl gray, decaf, herbal), scones and delicate pastries and finger sandwhiches (smoke salmon, cucomber, curry chicken salad). It was at someone house and was very laid back. I loved it and thought the food was delicous!! My mother though didn't think there was enough food.

OMG, thanks ladies! I will check out some on that list, and also the page with the favors! I have some time, her wedding is not until November, and the other girls are helping, but I want to make sure it is special, so I am starting now!

Keep the ideas coming if you have any!

My only comment, 50 people might be alot to fit into some of the smaller shops. You might have to look into a fancy hotel or restaurant that will serve High tea, or if you have a large house that you could have it at and hire servers.

I love the idea!!
