Postpone or push through

Postpone or push through

I am supposed to be going back to school for my School Building Leader Certification starting in March. The course are on Saturdays for a year and then a year internship. I currently work full time as Speech Language Pathologist at a preschool and do hombase therapy two evening a week after work. My FI says I should not postpone but I already feel like I could use that time for mor planning, or doing evaluations and making more money towards the wedding. In the end of the program though I am sure I will be able to get a supervisory position at school making a much as I mak with work and home care and working less hours. Ultimately I want to be home more when I am married. I am torn. A part me thinks I should postpone until after the wedding. I am not sure. I already feel overwhelmed.

You have to do what you have to do. It's only once a week and the overall result is going to be much greater then the short term disruption of taking the class. In the end it will all be worth it. Good Luck

that's a tough decision! if it is only once a week, can you keep you FT job you have now and maybe the HB evals too? or maybe cut back on the evals? you say you want to be home more once you are married, if that's what you want, it might pay to do it now and trudge through it for the year with the classa nd then the internship. Good luck with everything!

I think the sacrifice right now (for the year) will be worth the time & you'll get to spend at home & the higher pay in the end.

I know it probably seems like a lot to take on while planning the wedding; but at least you'll have gotten it out of the way and don't have to worry about that during your 1st year of marriage!

I can't tell you what to do...but I can tell you that I was sort of in your position (debating whether or not to start grad school or put it off until after the wedding and we were settled) and I decided to go for it. Its absolutely harder than if I had just let it lay until afterwards, but I still think it was the right decision...now a year after the wedding we will be able to afford to buy a house because I started last semester instead of putting it off.
