Potential Dress....

Potential Dress....

Good Morning Ladies!
Sunday my mother and I went to Bridal Elegance in Huntington, I had gone there about a year and a half ago with FSIL. I tried on several dresses but wasn't in love with any, so I decided to ask about two dresses they had the last time I was there. One has since been sold and the other... well its upstairs, they no longer carry that designer, so its being sold online.
Well I tried it on again and it felt GOOD. its my size and is comfortable. its 100% pure silk... and its like 75% off the original price.. which makes it fall RIGHT into my price range
my mother LOVES it on me and we're going back today with my MOH to get her opinion.
here's the thing... I'm only like 75% on it... I love the way it feels on me (material wise) and I LOVE the price... I love the bottom, with the pick-ups... but I'm not sure about the top. I like a dropped waist better on me because it makes me look taller... and I like a little more design.
Do you think I could add something to the bodice to make it a little more exciting? maybe add some crystals into the pick ups?
I just dont want a plain dress...

suggestions please?

For the most part, you can add stuff to jazz it up a bit. Keep in mind, of course, that this will bring the price up! Do you have a picture of the dress? That'd probably give us a better idea.

I'm not big on the flower look, its just not me.. I was thinking of adding like jewel clusters.

I see what you mean. It is a beautiful dress! I like the idea of flowers or rhinestones or something inside the pick-ups, but I also feel like it needs something more up top. I would've suggested just beadwork along the top and bottom of the bodice, but it's already there and I still feel like it needs more. Maybe you can take pictures of dresses with beading that you like and talk to the seamstress at the dress shop about altering this to look similar?

I think it's gorgeous the way it is! don't forget you have ur accessories to bling it up a bit....sometimes the more simple the dress, the more elegant it is...

I actually think the dress looks great as is. JMO.

I would actually think that if you got a really nice necklace, bracelet and earrings that it would complete the look quite nicely.

Also if you're going to be paying a lot to add things, you might be better off looking for a different dress.

I'm adding 10 flowers and it's costing me $200

that would actually still be in my budget, this dress is about $500 under what I was planning on spending.. which is a major plus, but I don't know... I just want a little more 'bling'.

I agree that you should just bling out your accessories. Don't mess with that dress meg, i like it just as it is!

but compared to others you've seen me in.. do you like this one?
I don't know.. I just have my doubts, ash and I were looking at the pics from village bridal and I found another I liked... based on the pic of me in it.
