potentially controversial question...

do you think there's ever an instance where a person 'DESERVES' to die?

murderers? rapists? cheaters? thieves?

what does everyone think?

Murderers should be killed. Rapists should have the same thing done to them, as they did to another....

Yes I think the guy that recently murdered his wife (long beach LI) should die he left the mother dead and his children with the body. That man has no reason to breathe.

eye for an eye all the way

I guess I can see both sides of the argument... but I dont think I would want to be responsible for someone's death (I dont think I am the person to decide who should live or die) even if that person is a murderer, rapist etc... although I might feel differently if it was personal...

I guess I'm the flip side..I dont believe anyone should die except of natural causes...If someone killed somone I loved, I would not want them to get off as easy as dying...Life is hell sometimes and I want that person to live a HELL of a life, behind bars or with the guilt whatever....I think guilt can kill a person and I would hope that on them....an eye for an eye is not what I believe in...If I tell a lie for example , even if its not meant to hurt, would I want that person to in turn tell me a lie etc? Where does it stop, at only murder?

I CAN understand though , completly, why people would feel differntly then me...It's a personal thing in my opinion.

I think anyone who rapes , kills or hurts someone is mentally ill in some fashion...I personally dont believe you can be sane and have a grasp on reality or consequence if you do something like that and therefor , that should be treated ( in a jail hopefully)

I feel that rapists should be killed. Murderers sometimes does not deserve the death penalty. I could see how someone could get caught in the moment-like walking in and seeing your spouse in bed with someone else- and just snapping. Rapists I feel are more sick in the head and do more damage to a person and their family. I feel murderers might be able to be rehabed. I don't believe rapists can.

i agree some muderers do not deserve death... for example if you are defending your self, or accidentaly do something.....however im no so sure about a cheating spouse being forgiven.... the right thing to do would just be walking away.....

I agree that walking away is the right thing to do. But I can see how a 'normal' person could snap once in their life and I'm not sure that should result in death.

I think for me it would be very circumstancial. I think some people deserve to die and I think others deserve to suffer. It's when people just overall get off too easy that burns me. My niece's father, who's no longer involved in her life, shook her when she was three months old. She was bleeding on her brain and was hospitalized for a week. He confessed to the cops and all he got was probation and can't see my niece. He can, when she's 8 I believe contest it and have supervised visitation, but I highly doubt he would even bother. Do I think he should die, no, but I don't think his punishment, if you could even call it that, suited the crime. I do believe in karma though, and bad things will happen to him to even the score, even though the court system didn't do its job.
