PR or PR food Lover's

HOw cool is my friend. She suggested this place for my Bachelorette dinner.

Sofrito

I never heard it before but I am liking the look of the food..

Yummmmm..

The reviews are excellent for the place by the way.

My friends go all the time and I heard its AMAZING!

I also heard you have to make early reservations or youll be stuck waiting for hours!!! Food is great but they dont have the best service.

Fh and I have been there, we went on a Friday night and it was PACKED, so try to make resevrations if you can, if not youll be waiting forever for a table. also the upstairs have the seating and a bar, with noooo room @ all to move, so just try to remember to get there early

other then that the food was good, but no different from any other spanish restaurant i go to

Do you go to the one on Austin Street?? Ive been to that one but for some reason I love the one on Lex the best!!! I think they also have one at the Seaport! What is your fave dish there?? I looooooove the ropa vieja or the pollo al ajillo (chicken in garlic). DH LOOOOOVES the churrasco. Okay now IM getting my appetite back!

thats the one i always go to, its 5 mins from my house-LOVE IT. I only went to the one in the city 1 time

im the opposite i always go to the one on austin but thats also bc its so close to where i live. I went to the one on lex 1 time. Ive never been to the one at the seaport but the guy at the one in forest hills say they were opening one up in bayside.

I love the coconut shrimp or shrimp balls for appetizer, the fried calamari is good too. For entree i love the chicken and shrimp. I also love when they have the tangerine salmon for the special of the day and they'll have rice in lobster bisque. Or the seafood special with the verde sauce

I agree it is so packed. this is actually one of my favorite restaurants. However since the cuisine is Puerto Rican, it does not taste like any other spanish restaurants in the city. Most of the spanish (caribbean) restaurants in the city or the outer boroughs are dominican. Sofrito is strictly Puerto rican food..there is truly a difference in taste. In my Opinion...it is so yummy...try Sofrito's!
