Prayers Needed - Fire at our apartment and we moved in 4 days ago!!!

I have been M*I*A b/c FH and I moved into our new apartment. We started moving everything in Saturday but today FH came home from the dentist to the apartment next to us up in flames.

Our whole place smells of smoke - I just finished putting in ALL my clothes yesterday and b/c our bedroom faces the unit that caught fire everything smells especially bed in the bedroom.

I'm so pi$$ed off and I feel horrible that FH has been dealing with this all afternoon himself since I'm at work.

Anyway - please send your prayers that its not that horrible and we can sleep there tonight! We have a restoration person coming today to check it out to see what we need done. Thank goodness for renters insurance and FFIL being an insurance guy.

Omg im so sorry!! but you are so lucky the fire didn't spread into your apartment!!
Clothes can be replaced, not pictures or sentimentals if the fire would have reached you!

Thanks ladies!

The update is - it smells like total a$$!!!!! We couldn't sleep there last night and tonight since the restoration people are coming in to start the clean-up which is great! Insurance claims person is coming today to do all the investigating too!

We are def lucky it wasn't in our apartment - I feel horrible for the people it happened to but we are happy no one was hurt.

Just wasnt what we expected to have happen 4 days into living in our new home

OMG!!! Im so sorry to hear this! Hopefully everything can be fixed, replaced and no one was hurt.

aww, so sorry that happened! Happy that they are starting the clean up process for you though. you will be back before you know it.

OMG I am so sorry! At least you weren't home or hurt, but it sure does suck that all of your stuff is gross now. Hopefully your renters will take care of it!
