Pre-Birthday Blues

Pre-Birthday Blues

FH has been a little peved at me lately because I'm not 'in the mood' as much. I think we talked about this yesterday or the day before here on the boards. It has to do with stress, not sleeping well and possibly BC.

He's also been asking me to go skydiving. Sorry, not interested. Yeah sure, it looks cool, but it's not one of those things i want to do! Personal choice you know? Btw, he's done it before and he's going again with his friends. He was asking me to come too.

I said something to him about making me do things I don't want to do (there have been other big things) and he said, 'Oh yeah? Is sex one of those things I'm forcing you to do?'
I'm obviously hurt at this point and then i pointed out that he fell asleep when he came over last night and he said it was because I put him to sleep.

I'm not asking for a pity party, but seriously, tomorrow is my birthday and I'm always a little down the days before and he knows that. I usually perk up day of, but that remains to be seen at this point.

I'm so upset.

aaah, FH and I have DEF have similar conversations about this before (minus the sky diving lol).

It's just a rut that we all get in time to time. Unfortunately most guys don't experience something like this.

We've also had this conversation on here a bunch of times and it makes me feel SOOO much better to know that i'm not the only one.

Re: Pre-Birthday Blues

i am sorry you are feeling down

i would def talk to fh and let him know that those comments upset you and that it is totally normal to go through phases of not being in the mood. He should be a little more understanding.

Tell him to stop acting like such a punk when it's your birthday!

I am sorry. I also feel better I am not only one that has gone through this (minus the skydiving). Sometimes I just don't think they understand its annoying.

I hope you enjoy your birthday. Happy early b-day

Re: Pre-Birthday Blues

I've definitely had this conversation with FH before, also without the skydiving part, hehe.

I once basically told him that we always do things he wants to do and nothing I want to do. When we finally got it all out, and started to realize that we were both being a little selfish, things started getting better, in every aspect of our relationship. It took a couple of fights to get through it, but in all honesty, I'm glad we fought it out.

ETA: I've also given him flat out tips on ways to get me 'in the mood,' and since he's been listening, it's been much better

Re: Pre-Birthday Blues

Sorry to hear that you are going thru this. Unfortunately, in my experience men just dont get the sex thing and the fact that women arent always in the mood like they are. I think even if they are in a really bad mood, depressed, angry...they would be in the mood. LOL!!

I can perk you up about your birthday....you may be another year older...but I guarantee that you arent as old as I am!! My daughter just turned 18 last weekend..if that doesnt make someone feel old...I dont know what does

Seriously....I hope you cheer up and enjoy your birthday!
