Pre Cana

I just went to my introduction class last night. The couples were broken down into smaller groups 4 couples per group. Each group has a 'host' couple who is going to be educating us.
We are sooo happy the Deacon who is marrying us and his wife is our host couple..

Just wanted to share...

I'm happy for you. We can't wait to go to ours. Sounds like it's going to actually be fun

That's great! We did interfaith pre-cana and loved it. It was a great experience!

Re: Pre Cana

We are doing ours in Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains (close to where we live). We are doing 3 weeks and had 2 weeks done already.

The first night was alright. It's not organized very well. There's about 30 couples and we all just sat there listening to the husband talk. He was very traditional -- husband worked, wife quit her job when they got married. I thought they were very nice but not really a couple you'd want giving Pre-Cana (ie- I hoped for a more contemporary couple). Then last week...that couple couldn't make it and we got this elderly couple who said they couldn't stay the 2 hours. He talked for 45 minutes. She said maybe 2 things. She was cute - I forget waht she said but it was funny. He was nice but repeated himself alot. And again, very old fashioned.

Alot of the couples said they weren't getting anything out of it as we were all leaving. It's a shame. If FH was into it, I would not mind hosting a pre-cana thing but then again, we're not an ideal couple for it (living together - don't think the Church would go for it!!) LOL!!
