My FH just registered for Pre- Cana.. Sorry to sound stupid but does anyone know what you do there for 5 Thursdays?

we just started last tuesday, basically you are with a few other couples who are getting married, it us usually run by a nother married couple. You talk about what marraige really is and it really helps you reflect on your relationship and where it is going.
I honestly think it should be a pre-requisite for anyone (any religion) who is getting married, bc it makes you understand what a commitment it is!!

I wish FH and I could go to something like that. He's catholic but I'm not. So I guess we have to find something similar. Any one know of anything similar to pre cana?

I start next Sunday.. We have the focus test . Then we have 5 nights in a couples home..

We did 5 Thursdays too. Each week we would focus on a different topic... Communication, faith, sexuality, and other issues that are important to couples. It was a lot of fun and we learned so much about one another during that time!!

you have to go if FH is catholic and he wants his marriage to be recognized by the catholic church. if you are getting married in the church, this information should have been given to you already when you set the date... if you are getting married at your place of worship or the hall or wherever else, he needs a dispensation and BOTH of you need to attend pre-cana... again only if he wants his marriage to be recognized by the church.
