Pre Cana...

I know I have asked this question once before, but I am still unsure, so I will ask again. Has anyone found a Pre Cana program that is not costing close to $200? I have heard of girls going for $50 or some for free... how did you accomplish this? I feel like the prices I am getting seem outrageous. Please let me know your thoughts/suggestions.

Are you going specifically with someone that your church is providing?

The pre-cana at my church I believe costs $60.

Uggg... I feel the same!! I have one reserved for $195 on April 19th, but I want to find another one. It's CRAZY!

we took our pre cana in rochester - it only cost us $60. i think you should contact the arch diocese in rockville center (?) and ask for a list of pre cana courses. you can probably find the prices on the list. also, NYC has a differenct schedule. you should check with your priest to make sure it is OK for you to take pre cana somewhere else though.

i think the costs depend on the place and how much they really need to and want to charge.

some churches might include the pre-cana fee in their 'Wedding fee' and then technically pre-cana is 'free'

So I just checked RVC... they want $250.00 plus $50 for FOCCUS. And I thought $190.00 was bad!

I'm doing Pre-cana through my church in Bethpage, and it is $50. It starts this Sunday.

I think every diocese is different. We did Brooklyn-Queens Diocese b/c we live in queens and we had to pay $195..for two days. No FOCCUS test though..I don't even know what that is.

Where are registered for?

I paid $70 through the church (St. Rose of Lima). It was 1 night a week for like 6 weeks at someones house.

Ours was $175 but it was also a Friday night and Saturday all day and included snacks on Friday and meals all day on Saturday, so that's really what it covered I think. Also, our supplies most likely I tend to think the cheaper ones are probably more of the one class every week for a few weeks variety b/c they don't involve food--I think weekend ones are probably the more expensive ones b/c they include food! Of course I could be totally wrong, just a theory!!
