For the ladies doing Pre-cana -- do you have to do it within 6 months of your wedding or it doesnt matter?
I want to sign up for the Sept. classes but I'm getting married in June -- is it too soon?
Our priest said to do it whenever but the pre-cana site says within 6 months and now i'm all confused

Re: Pre-Cana
You can do them whenever you want. I have a friend who is getting married this August and she did Pre-Cana last year.

Re: Pre-Cana
It really depends on your church and when the offer it. I just did mine last weekend and I am getting married in July 09. There was a couple there that was getting married in two weeks!

Re: Pre-Cana
My priest said to sign up and get it done as soon as possible, so we're signing up soon.

Re: Pre-Cana
I think it depends on the parish. Some might be stricter about it than others. I would double check with the priest.

Re: Pre-Cana
Our priest told us to get it out the way as soon as possible and we're actually going to ours at the end of this month.

Re: Pre-Cana
I dont think it has to be. But now that i remember ours will be about 3 months before. SO i guess it would be around the 6 month mark. Maybe it depends on the church.

Re: Pre-Cana
You need to submit your papers no sooner than 6 months away from the wedding. My priest said it's so you can't go do pre-cana early, then marry someone else and then try to get married in a Catholic church. Sounds nutty but I guess they think you wont marry and then try to marry in the Catholic church within six months of your wedding.
