I was on the Diocese website to register for 2010 precana...
Some of the classes say Catholic Pre-Cana some others say Evening Pre-Cana... is there a difference between them other than the day of the week?

Re: Pre-Cana
I looked into doing Pre-Cana with the Dioceses and noticed that as well!
I believe Evening just denotes that the classes are held after 5,6 or 7 pm. It is possible to just call them and ask? I am doing pre-cana through my church, but their schedule won't be released to us until mid January or so...

Are either of you looking at RVC Dioceses? If so ... TYI it's $300. I might look at individual churches if so just to save $.

Re: Pre-Cana
I did not even pay attention to that we complete our precana 2 weeks ago, but I think the evening was Friday night and Saturday morning which is what we did!

Re: Pre-Cana
I think it's just the day of the week & the time - not sure why they have diff names?
I looked on the website and the pre-cana is SO expensive!!! The one provided by my church is $50, so I'm doing that one even though it's inconvenient.

We did it through an individual church, St. Christopher's. It was 4 Friday nights instead of the one Friday night and all day Saturday but it was only $75 and we actually really did enjoy it.

That's who I am doing it with - how long did the Friday night sessions last? FH goes to his P/T job at 11 pm on Fridays..I'm hoping we can be out of there earlier than that..

Re: Pre-Cana
I'm pretty sure I took an 'evening' pre-cana class and it counts. As long as you answer all the questions properly (As in, have you been married before, etc.) then any of those classes should be valid.

Re: Pre-Cana
I did mine last weekend through the Diocese of Brooklyn (it was at a church in Douglaston, Queens) even though my parish is on Long Island. It was $195 but it was 2 hours on a Friday night and then Saturday (listed from 9-5 but we got out early due to snow)... it was convenient for FH and me this way because we couldn't do ones through my parish that were 6 weeks long and plus we got it over and done with!! i think the site is pre-cana.org

Re: Pre-Cana
I got a letter from my church, St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hempstead....they offer a one day class on Saturdays and two night classes on I think Sunday night.
It costs if I am not mistaken $75 per couple.

My church is in Queens so I probably have to do it through the Brooklyn Diocese
