Re: pre cana
Well, they're all different. For ours, we pretty much just listened to the couple talk about their life experiences and then they'd separate FH and I and have us fill out worksheets about each other. Then we'd come back and compare our answers with each other. It was completely confidential, nobody had to say anything out loud in front of the other couples and it was easy as pie.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to my pre-cana session.
We're in a group with 6 other couples and have a workbook with diff areas (money, children, etc.) and we discuss everything.
I think it will be interesting and they already told us that they won't 'tattle' on us to the priest!

We probably had the same workbook you're talking about.
The most fun part of pre-cana is we had a fake wedding ceremony.

Re: pre cana
FH and I just did it last weekend with about 20 other couples. Honestly, it wasnt that bad and FH and I thought it was surprisingly helpful and good (as did the other couples there too!). Basically, we listened to a couple of rather entertaining marriage counselors who talked about various issues in a marriage (communication, family pressures, money, children, etc) and also brought up some issues for FH and I to talk about. It definitely facilitated conversation between us that we havent really had before...which was a good thing. The only time we both lost interest in it was when the priest came in to talk to us, and that was only about 45 min - so it wasn't bad at all.
