Pre-cana

Pre-cana

How many weeks does everyone have to attend for Pre-cana. My church just contacted me to set up the initial start date...and they expect FH and I to go to 7 weeks! 2 hours each week! I almost fainted! Does anyone else have to go for that long?

the one offered through my church was 6 sundays, FH couldnt do that due to his work schedule, so we ended up doing one at a church in douglaston that was 2 hours on a friday night and then from 9-5 on a saturday. wasn't bad at all!

we had one initial meeting that was maybe 20 min. Then we met 3 Thursdays for 2 hours. We end off going to a Sunday mass. Where are you doing precana?

Mine is 6 classes. 2 Sundays and 4 Wednesdays for 2 hrs. However all the weeks are not in a row. They are split up over 2 months.

Mine is a weekend too. I also have to do the focus survey which is supposed to take about an hour. I'm taking mine at a different church than the one i'm getting married in since its closer to where I live. Maybe you could look around and see if they have a shorter one elsewhere. Good Luck!

I wasn't either but we have only been to 2 classes and you can take alot away from it. It has brought up some questions you either wouldn't think to talk bout b4 you got marriedor stuff you just totally for got about in all the kioas of wedding planning.

We are doing pre-cana at St. Raymond's in East Rockaway...I'm just a little bummed about it being so demanding because my schedule is pretty hectic. Plus my FSIL(who got married at a different church) only had to go two times and they wound up canceling the 2nd day, so she only had to do 2 hours...

Re: Pre-cana

I was just reviewing my church's information and its either 7 weeks, every sunday or a weekend but the price difference is A LOT!

How much is everyone paying for pre cana? Its just beginning to really add up between the church fee, the music fee, the donation to my school (where our priest will do the ceremony) and now an additional pre cana and foccus fee :o(

We have to do 6 ot 7 weeks also for 2 hours at our parish. You could sign up for the day ones through the diocese but it's $200
