Pre Cana and FOCCUS..please help

I was just informed that you have to do both.

Where do I even start. My parish recommended I check out the Diocese of Rockville Centre for parish listing and times...

But then I checked it out online and there is a Pre-Cana program and then Foccus that is required for $250?

Can someone explain this because I'm so completely lost and no one at my parish is helping or answering the questions I'm asking.

Im surprised your church doesn't offer this??? My church set us up with their precana and focus.

Hmmmmmmm You do need both for some parishes.. Focus is just a 'test' that's one night.

well my circumstances were different than everyones so I got to do a private session (4 hours long) with a close friend of the family that does pre-cana for a church we dont belong to nor are getting married at (my FH had to deploy to iraq and wont be home till a week before the wedding)

BUT...I do think my church had pre cana classes and someone was supposed to call me about those classes. But I didn't receive that call. Which was fine because I spoke with my deacon and set up my own precana and foccus session with their understanding of our situation

But call your church if not google diocese of rockville center there is a website that tells you all about it and the days that precana and foccus is offered. And yes it is like $250 or something. which it is usually free or alot cheaper through your parish...thats why i would check with them first...and don't let them tell you nothing...GET ANSWERS....I have learned the workers in the parish centers of the church dont want to be bothered haha but I bother them!!!

Usually you do the Foccus test and then precana. If your parish doesn't offer it then call the Diocese. Ours was $85 -- $250 I thought was the cost of the weekend retreat but could be wrong.

Yup, that is how I did it.

You do FOCCUS online, and then there is a breakout session at diocese pre-cana where you and FH will get the results. Someone will come over and discuss it with you.

When picking a date for pre-cana, you have to give them 2 or 3 choices and they will mail you something saying which date you got assigned. Its very easy!

FH and I did both! Sometimes depending on the church you will only need Pre- Cania. If you go through the church it shouldn't cost you anything, same thing with the foccus test!

They usually contact you for Pre-Cania and Foccus!
