Pre Cana Classes

We are doing our Pre Cana in one weekend through the Diocese of RVC in Nov. Has anyone ever done one of these before? How was it? I'd love any feedback on what I should expect from pre-cana in general as well!

Pre Cana Classes

Yes! We did it at St Edwards in Syosset through the Diocese in one weekend. We enjoyed it, even FH who was dreading it from the time we got engaged. The couple who ran our session was pretty laid back and realistic and didn't try to force anything on you. They asked a question, everyone answered, we moved on to next question. They didn't make you answer but most of the time, everyone did.

Pre Cana Classes

My fiancé and I did it over the course of a month, three sessions that were about 2 hours each. Topics that were spoken about were communication, family, traditions & cultural background, family planning, finances, and even what to expect and what to do the morning of your wedding to prepare for the ceremony and rehearsal.

Pre Cana Classes

I'm excited for pre cans, FH is kind of indifferent about it. Were getting married at blessed sacrament in valley stream, part of the diocese of rvc and our priest mentioned an option like a retreat upstate. Has anyone ever done that? I think were leaning toward the every Sunday for some weeks.

Pre Cana Classes

We did the weekend precana with the Diocese of RVC. Both FH and I were kind of dreading it I hate to say. But actually it was a nice weekend and very laid back. They had some discussions basically on learning to work through the small stuff, natural family planning, they go over your FOCCUS results individually with each couple, unless you had a major difference in your results they basically just asked you if you had anything you wanted to discuss with them. Most things are done individually and you just discuss them privately as a couple. They ended the second day with mass. Breakfast and lunch were provided both days and we were out early both days. All in all not a big deal at all! Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks girls! That puts my nerves at ease! Ours is two separate days and close enough to our house that everyone just goes home at night and comes back the next day!

We are going to the one at St. John's in a few weeks. Sounds like you are too! Is there anything we are supposed to be preparing for it? FH and I haven't been told anything!

I'm going to the one in Uniondale in November! I was told the only thing to do before was the FOCCUS online quiz and discuss whatever you might be wondering about after you take it...Otherwise I think we just show up?

Oh no worries.....Too bad we aren't doing the same one. When we registered online, we were sent a link to complete the FOCCUS online, so I would call someone. Good luck!
