I want to register for one of the weekend courses, since FH & I live in CT right now. So I went online to the website and there is 'Marriage Prep & FOCCUS' and 'Engaged Encounter & FOCCUSS' The marriage prep is $300 and the engaged one is $425
Which one is it?? Whats the difference??

I am not sure of the difference. I did the engaged encounter class in FL where we live.. and wow,, it was not that $$$.. I thikn we paid $75 for it.
it was an all day class with like 30 other couples. it was actually pretty goood!!

oh wait.. i think it may be that expensive, because you actually go away for a weekend.. like a retreat.. I totally opted out of that..
its just not for me...
thats prob why its so expensive.. . double check with your church.

I think the one is a retreat and I know the other is not. Its at a church. So maybe thats the difference.

Yeah I'm doing the 300 one, It's like all day for two days, but you go home at night, the other one provides room and board.

wow thats crazyy, room and board?? never heard of those.. we just went to meet with our priest on saturday for our first meeting and interview and all we have to do is meet with him once more witch will be november 1st and than we are going to scheduel for the pre-cana classes witch is this winter for 3 sundays 6-9 and thats it and than we're done -- thank god, lol!!
and we are paying only 80 bucks for 3 sundays for our pre-cana!!!!!

Well I'm in the same boat as original poster. I live in NY, but church is in MD, so I have to do a one weekend deal. My church said I could do it up here so that's helpful, but yeah expensive.

Hey ... I'm also in CT right now.... We are going to the Pre Cana in the Diocese of New Haven. It's a little far for us but it is only one day for 5 hours, and costs $85.00.
As far as the difference, Pre Cana is more of a group retreat/meeting with other couples where as Foccus is just you and your FH. Some dioceses require both now. My parish does...but because I live out of parish and Foccus isn't available through the NH diocese, we don't have to do it.
