pre cana help

pre cana help

hey girls. did anyone do pre cana in one sitting and where did you go please?
FH works a rotating schedule and we cant do it in the normal 4 x, 1 night a week sitting. We were told we could go anywhere for it.

Call your church and get the information for the archdioces. I was told they are the ones who conduct the one day pre cana.

drvc.org is the website for the rockville center dioces.

We are also on a tight schedule. We are doing a 2 day pre-cana weekend through the diocese of rockville center. It's a bit pricier than going through your church I think and it includes FOCCUS. You have to check through drvc when the next available 2 day pre cana is.

Our Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa has one day pre cana on a Saturday. Not sure if you need it or not but they don't do the FOCCUS test- our church didn't require it though.

The DRV has the weekend ones and they include FOCCUS. We did this because our church required FOCCUS

I had the same problem with my FH work schedule and it worked out great b/c they worked with all the couple that were there with us ..there was only four couples and it worked out great...i only had 4 meetings and that was it ..but the person who does it will call you and ask and i just let me know

just called them and they have a one day the next time FH's schedule rotates to a saturday. seems like a longggg day lol

just out of curiosity, i was under the impression you HAD to do pre cana at the church you were getting married at....i didn't think you could do it elsewhere...??

It really is a LONG day... but at least you will be done in 1 day... My husbands schedule is nutso too... so this worked!

we did ours at st. patricks in bay shore. It was a weekend program.

It's not so bad. We did it and they give you breaks and have a snack table, but make sure you bring a coffee or cold drink for when you get there. Everyone is really nice and theres no pressure and just a day of listening and they break out into 2 groups for some of the discussions with the married couple.
