pre-cana input

pre-cana input

I have to go to Pre-cana on Sat. at St. Cyrill's. Anybody have any input on what I should expect? I heard they give you some kind of 'test' scantron sheet and all. So if we fail they won't marry us?

don't stress about precana. the scantron test is the foccus test. it just asks a bunch of questions about your views on children, money, family. and they compare your answers to your fh. my church then makes you go over your answers with a volunteer couple from the parish. we haven't done it yet. i'm sure you'll be fine. the whole goal is to get you two talking about important issues aside from the wedding itself.

enjoy!

It's not a test. Its more of an opinion survey to see if you and FH are on the same page. I just finished pre-cana, and while it was a long day it was actually pretty interesting.

The survey has a lot of different questions. There might be a few that for lack of a better word...disturb you. I remember one about future spouse and being afraid of them physically hurting you, and drugs/alcohol, etc. but there were a few that made me and FH giggle about God and our 'intimate' relationship.

Don't worry about pre-cana. I didn't have to take the foccus test, but I know a lot of others places make you take one. It's just an opinion test.

All in all, pre-cana is like a marriage prep course--they try to teach you how to have successful marriage and some of the tools to that end. It's pretty fun.
