Pre-Cana not at your own church

Pre-Cana not at your own church

Hi ladies,
My fiance and I sent in our pre-cana registration throught the Diocese of Rockville Centre because we work/have classes weeknights and couldn't do the pre-cana at our own church (St. Edward's in Syosset.) Because we had to find weekend pre-cana sessions at other churches, I'm concerned that we won't have any 'face time' with the priest. We are admittedly not very religious, and I indend to go to church more often so I can see the sermons, etc, but do I need to schedule time with the priest in addition to pre-cana to work out the church details (the readings, music etc.) or does that happen during pre-cana.
I'm confused!
Thanks!

You should receive the booklet 'Together for life' at Pre-Cana. This will have suggested readings and will have info about planning your ceremony -but you don't pick out or discuss this at Pre-Cana.

You need to contact your priest separately to tell him which readings you have picked. Have you already done your PMI? This is usually when you talk to the priest about timelines, ceremony, rehearsal etc. Typically you don't meet with the priest again until the rehearsal or very close to the wedding.

What's PMI stand for? Pre-Marital Interview?
We met with the priest right after we got engaged to secure the date, told him we couldn't do the pre-cana at the church, so he gave us the booklet for the other pre-cana locations. And that's been it so far.

yes.
Probably your best bet is to give him a call and ask him when you need to meet again.
