I have a question that I seem to be confused with.
We have our pre cana scheduled at Our Lady of Lourdes in November. I asked the priest when he confirmed our date and time of where to do the FOCCUS. He told me the priest marrying us will dicuss that, and I was only told to look on the dvr.org page.
I am just confused. Has anyone else gone through this yet?

Re: Pre Cana Question
We're doing Pre Cana in November as well. From what I know, we just have to go for 3 Tuesdays and get a certificate to bring back to the priest who is marrying us. Are you in the Diocese of Rockville Centre? Could be different from Brooklyn and Queens.

Re: Pre Cana Question
I am doing the Pre Cana through Rockville center diocse. We are getting married at St. Joseph's and doing the pre cana through Our Lady of Lourdes.
We are only doing the Pre Cana one day and then receiving the certificate after that. But, I dont know what FOCCUS is? Is that Pre Cana in different words? We were never given the questionarie to fill out like most couples receive, so I don't know what the difference is.

Re: Pre Cana Question
We did precana there and it was great... they don't do foccus as part of their program, but you still get the same certificate as the other churches.
We are getting married at St. Barnabus and I asked out priest about the FOCCUS test and I don't think its required, but he said he'd ask someone to go over the result with us if we wanted to take the test.
Hope that helps!!

Re: Pre Cana Question
The FOCCUS test is an online questionnaire you and your FH take separately. It basically covers every topic imaginable (i.e. money, children, religion, family, sex, etc) and evaluates if you're on the same page about these issues. We took ours outside of Pre-Cana and went over the answers with our priest together. You only go over the questions you disagree on or are unsure of.
