Pre Cana starts next Wednesday

Not sure how I am feeling about it. Me and FI are not very religious. Anyone else going to be there? (Its in W. Islip)

We're starting on Sunday. Then we have to go every Wed. through Oct. 20, but it's in South Huntington. I really have no idea what to expect. I hear it's not so bad.

I went to the one in W. Islip. No worries about being religious. We're not particularly religious and we had a great experience.

Well the secret is that I am still living with my parents... but I'm not. I just told the church that so in all of our answers we are going to have to pretend we havent been living together for 4 yrs. How is that possible???

What they did at ours was private conversations with your FI - no one had to publically say anything. They gave out worksheets on different topics (family, expectations, religion, etc) and you and FI fill them out separately then get together to talk about them, just the two of you. No one was judgemental or looking to convert you or anything. It was reflective, private, and a nice time to chat and share.

haha we originally told the church that we werent living together, but then when we met with the married couple to go over our FOCUS (not all churches have this)... i kept saying things that totally insinuated (SP?) that we lived together, so then, towards the end, i tried to casually throw in that we had 'just' moved in together.. but with Pre-Cana, our hosts told us that nothing that is said there goes back to the church at all... so you dont really have to worry about keeping that wall up. i can tell in our group that some people live together, but are trying to keep it a secret. trust me, its pretty noticeable. Dont worry about it,,, just dont try to put on a show to cover it up, ya know?
good luck with pre-cana. FH isnt really religious, and he's liked it so far... they doont really cram the church down your throat

We actually were scheduled to start this past Wed. But, my FH and I were the only ones to show up! I couldn't believe it! Three other couples blew off pre cana! Anyway, that session did not count and we still have 4 left!
Not fair!
